AROUND KILLAHA
There is plenty to do at Killaha Holidays. We have acres of woodland and seashore to explore by foot or by kayak and our small slipway is ideal for launching from, so guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks and other watersport equipment (at your own risk). If you choose to venture further afield, the picturesque town of Kenmare is only 2 miles away with it's many pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets and a lively Wednesday market in the summer months.
Our 'local' is the Sailors Bar and Restaurant, only 1 mile away down the busy R571 road, serving excellent food in the summertime and a cosy pint or 2 in the autumn and spring.
Or stock up in Kenmare and just relax in your hot tub gazing up at the stars!

HORSEBACK RIDING
CYCLING
We recommend the beach and mountain pony trekking available at Dromquinna Stables (distance - 5 miles). They have horses and ponies suited to all levels of rider and can cater to even the smallest guest. Even nearer is the River Valley Stables at the Sheen Falls Hotel, only 2 miles away. Our own ponies also appreciate the odd carrot!

FISHING
Killaha offers the perfect base for both lake angling and shore fishing. John O'Hare in Kenmare is our local expert and his fishing tackle store in town is well worth a visit.
Bike hire is available through Finnegans in Kenmare or at Pedals and Boots in Lauragh. www.pedalsandboots.ie is a great resource for local cycling and hiking routes

KAYAKS AND BOAT TRIPS
The Star Outdoors Adventure Centre is just over 2 miles away with boat trips, water trampoline, paintballing, archery, crazy golf and kayak hire all on offer alongside their licenced bar and restaurant.
Emerald Outdoors offer a range of guided kayak trips in Kenmare Bay from their base on Kenmare Pier and the Seafari boat trip takes you right out to seal island. The Rosa Sea Fishing and Scenic tours also offer both fishing and sightseeing boat trips across Kenmare Bay.

HIKING

Killaha Holidays is situated right on the Beara Way , a 196 km circular route that takes you right around the Beara Peninsula, from the prehistoric stone circles of Kerry to the copper mine ruins of West Cork. We are just 2 miles from the Kerry Way, a 200 km trail that takes you around the famous Ring of Kerry. There are plenty of accessible sections of trail for the less adventurous walker!
